Picture this: you're out on the beautiful waters surrounding Cape Cod aboard our well-equipped 25-foot boat, casting lines for some of the most sought-after inshore species on the East Coast. This full-day adventure gives you and up to four buddies eight solid hours to target everything from trophy stripers to hard-fighting tautog. Captain and crew know these waters like the back of their hand, and they'll put you on fish whether you're a seasoned angler or just getting your feet wet. Pack your sunscreen, bring your appetite for fishing, and get ready for a day that'll have you planning your next trip before you even hit the dock.
When you step aboard our 25-footer, you're getting access to prime inshore fishing grounds that Cape Cod is famous for. We're talking about productive waters where the seasons dictate what's biting, and our captain adjusts the game plan accordingly. Spring brings hungry stripers moving through, summer opens up opportunities for blues and fluke, while fall delivers some of the best mixed-bag fishing you'll find anywhere. The boat's size is perfect for this type of fishing - big enough to handle Cape Cod's sometimes choppy conditions, but nimble enough to work tight spots where fish like to hang out. You'll spend your day moving between different structures, depths, and techniques based on what's working and what the fish are telling us. Don't worry about bringing tackle - we've got everything covered with quality rods, reels, and all the terminal gear you'll need.
Inshore fishing around Cape Cod is all about versatility, and that's exactly how we approach each trip. Depending on what we're targeting and the time of year, you might find yourself jigging over rocky bottom for black sea bass, drifting live bait for stripers, or working soft plastics around structure for fluke. The beauty of inshore fishing is the variety - one minute you're bottom fishing in 30 feet of water, the next you're casting topwater lures to surface-feeding fish. We carry an arsenal of techniques in our playbook: live bait fishing with pogies or eels, jigging with bucktails and soft plastics, trolling umbrella rigs, and even some light tackle casting when conditions are right. The captain reads the water, watches the fish finder, and adjusts tactics throughout the day. You'll learn different approaches and probably pick up a few new techniques to take home with you.
Striped bass are the crown jewel of Cape Cod inshore fishing, and for good reason. These fish can range from schoolie-sized 18-inchers up to true trophy bass pushing 40+ pounds. Peak season runs from late April through November, with some of the best fishing happening during the fall migration when big bass are actively feeding before heading south. What makes stripers special isn't just their size - they're smart, strong fighters that'll test your drag and give you a workout. They feed on everything from sand eels to pogies, and they're not always easy to fool.
Bluefish bring a different kind of excitement to the table. These aggressive predators show up in big schools and when they're feeding, the action can be absolutely wild. Blues typically arrive in late spring and stick around through early fall, with summer being prime time. They're not the biggest fish you'll catch, but pound-for-pound, few fish fight harder. Plus, they're excellent table fare when handled properly, despite what some people think.
Black sea bass have become a customer favorite over the years, and it's easy to see why. These bottom dwellers live around rocks, wrecks, and hard structure, typically in 20-60 feet of water. They're available from late spring through fall, with summer providing the most consistent action. What anglers love about black sea bass is their willingness to bite and their excellent eating quality. They're not massive fish - most run 1-3 pounds - but they're fun to catch and make for great dinner.
Tautog, or "tog" as locals call them, are the ultimate challenge fish. These wrasse family members live tight to structure and have an uncanny ability to steal bait without getting hooked. They're available spring and fall, with the best fishing typically happening in cooler water. Tog have powerful jaws designed for crushing shellfish, which makes them incredibly strong fighters despite their relatively modest size. Landing a keeper tog feels like a real accomplishment.
Fluke, also known as summer flounder, provide some of the most consistent summer action we see. These flatfish are masters of camouflage and ambush their prey from sandy or muddy bottoms. They're available from late spring through early fall, with the biggest fish typically caught during summer months. Fluke fishing requires patience and technique - you need to feel the subtle bites and know when to set the hook. The reward is some of the best eating fish in the ocean.
When conditions align and the baitfish are thick, we might encounter some of the speedsters like bonito and false albacore. These pelagic species show up during summer and fall migrations, typically when there are massive schools of bait around. They're built for speed and provide incredibly exciting light-tackle fishing when they're around.
Eight hours on the water with an experienced local captain, quality gear, and access to some of the East Coast's most productive inshore fishing grounds - that's what you're getting with this trip.
